I get paid to do This!!

WOW...less then a month left of my excursion on St. Simons Island! I am still having a blast and loving every second of it! A couple of weeks ago I had an amazing outdoorsy group, and just had such a blast with them. Their trip consisted of canoing/kayaking in the Okefenokee Swamp one day, Cumberland the next and then a shark dissection. I can't believe I get paid to do these things! Ben came down and visited a couple weeks ago and it was awesome. It was a much needed visit and really lifted my spirits. Even got to do a little funnel caking up in Charleston S.C. Here are some pictures of the past couple of weeks! I'm gonna spend as much time doing everything I can around here before I leave. Heading to Hostel in the forest one of these days! P.S.- I got accepted to UNH for Grad school!!!!

Easter

Well last weekend was Easter weekend and my parents finally got down here to visit. Friday night we had a great dinner at Gypsy Cab in St. Augustine with some family and friends and then we were up super early on Saturday to head to Cumberland Island. We had a beautiful day weather wise and got a chance to see tons of horses which can be an all or none type of thing! Not to many birds but we did get to see a Clapper Rail which are pretty difficult to see. The shark tooth pit went well for me and eventually my dad found one!! 16 to 1!! That night we had a dinner at MoonDoggies the best pizza in the world and then called it an early night. Sunday took them to the Swamp didn't see to many gators but we did see a cottonmouth which is pictured below! Monday they got a chance to see the Sea Turtle Center and then we went to Sea island for drinks. Pretty Packed weekend. The week was long but the kids were great. This weekend on Saturday we had our "Ain't Your Momma's Egg Hunt". This is a full Island hunt with clues as you go to find out your next location. Nancy, Gina, Kacey and I were on the winning team finishing almost an hour before the other team!! We had a lot of fun and finished with amazing food! Its unreal that it is the beginning of April only two more months down here (tear) but still trying to figure out what is next for me! Hopefully in the coming weeks I'll have some sort of clue! Pictures below of are Winston our duck!!! My dad with a 500+ Live Oak tree named Lucy. A wild Cottonmouth in the Swamp. Dylan the loggerhead Sea Turtle at the Center and me with a red tailed boa!

So What's new?

Alright i've been slacking a bit...ok a lot! Well...Ben came down to visit and there was just way to much to show him in the couple days he was here! We got a chance to visit Okefenokee and the Sea Turtle center! Also ben helped us have another second place success at quiz or Trivia as they call it in the south! The weekend before ben came Kacey, steve, and chris and I went to swim with manatees in Crystal River Florida...the story is to long to go into! St. Simons had it annual chili fest which they did have ONE veggie chili so of course i voted for them. I have become an old lady and learned how to knit and already can't put down the scarf i'm making. Many busy weeks ahead with work but the time is flying by...which is a good thing and bad thing. I did receive word that I have been accepted to Cal State but for general studies and waiting on the Environmental Education department! This coming weekend we are all heading to Savannah for St. Patrick's day weekend and next weekend my parents come!! YAY! I'm so excited to show them the Golden Isles! Remember visitors are welcome and I have weekends off so come visit! My pictures are of the lunar eclipse which was amazing from the beach and ben in the swamp!
